Logo Design

I won a design competition hosted by the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University Sikh Student Association to update their club logo.

The requirement for the logo was that it had to have elements of Sikhi. I created a logo that symbolizes the courage, strength and commitment to justice of Sikh warriors. They were also using the new logo to create hoodies and sweaters for members. As such, I wanted to ensure the logo was strong standing alone - without the club name.

The inspiration behind the logo was drawn from Sikh warriors which has been and still is an important historical aspect of Sikhi and Sikh culture. In Sikh culture, the symbolism of a warrior transcends more than physical combat; it embodies the spiritual and moral battles that Sikhs are encouraged to face with courage, integrity, and a strong commitment to justice, equality, and the welfare of all.
